Shakeel Ajam, MIS, Data Specialist
Mr. Ajam has 30 years of law enforcement information technology (IT) experience, having retired in April 2020 from his position as Informational Technology Manager for the Solano County Sheriff’s Office. He also worked for the Fairfield Police Department as Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Administrator and Manager. He has vast experience in CJIS IT, which includes computer-aided dispatch, records management, and JAIL systems, which he has implemented and supported. He has been part of California Police Chief Association’s Data Sharing Task Force for over 15 years.
Mr. Ajam has been regionally recognized as bringing the first Automated Fingerprint Identification System to the Solano County Sheriff’s Office, as well as implementing Solano County’s first Law Enforcement Data sharing system, which allows local agencies to search for CJIS data between agencies. He also implemented Solano County’s first electronic probable cause system between judicial agencies and local law enforcement agencies. He is also a very capable geographic information system (GIS) professional. He has spoken twice at the Esri worldwide user conference in GIS and Public Safety and is very familiar with Phase I/II of the latest generation computer-aided dispatch / records management systems, which require positional accuracy in GIS. He led the Solano County GIS team for several years, implementing new cloud-based solutions and national GIS standards within the department.
