Patricia Comarell, MA, FAICP, Senior Associate Emeritus
Ms. Comarell has over 30 years of experience in general government, organizational development, long-range and current planning, and historic preservation. She served nine years as the executive director for the City Council in Ogden City, Utah. Ms. Comarell also worked with Salt Lake City, Utah, for implementation support in the Planning Department. Previously, she served as the Ogden assistant community development director, as the president of the Utah Chapter of the American Planning Association, and on numerous national American Planning Association and American Institute of Certified Planners committees. She also has taught as an adjunct professor of urban planning at the University of Utah and served as a member of the Regional/Urban Design Assistance Team, a program sponsored by the American Institute of Architects. Ms. Comarell also has extensive experience with decision makers and community groups that involved facilitating and consensus building, which she gained while serving as a planner in various community development roles. Ms. Comarell received her bachelor of arts degree in Political Science from the University of Utah. She later received a master’s degree in Political Science, with an emphasis in public policy and administration.
