Fire departments sound the alarm about the lack of resources

Nearby fire departments are sounding the alarm about a lack of resources. Fire departments in cities like Kyle and Taylor said they can’t keep up with the influx of new growth.

“As we all know, the staffing and deployment model at the Taylor Fire Department has remained relatively the same over the course of 20 years and the community has changed quite a bit,” said Chief Daniel Baum, Taylor Fire Department.

One of those changes includes the new $17 billion Samsung plant that is expected to be built by the end of 2024.

“It is time to evaluate our current capabilities and seek some guidance on where we need to go moving forward,” Chief Baum said.
