Leadership & Organizational Culture
Your Single Most Important Assets Are Your People
Most highly successful organizations understand the importance of an individual’s character and behavior in driving performance, productivity, and effective teamwork. Business leaders and hiring professionals agree that a person of solid character and behavior is far more valuable an asset than someone who possesses great skills and experience but whose character and behavior traits fail to align with the culture of the organization. People are your greatest assets and have the most significant impact on your organization’s success. Explore how our solutions can improve the predictability of your human capital decisions, maximize employee engagement, and enhance the overall performance of your organization.
Maximizing Workforce Contribution
Read the white paper on “Maximizing Workforce Contribution” written by Citygate’s consulting partners
Excerpt: Every organization will face external challenges beyond their control. However, some of the most frustrating and costly challenges originate from within and have one thing in common: people. Therefore, the principle challenge that an organization will face is how to acquire, develop, engage, and retain the right people.
Citygate President David DeRoos says, “This is a must read for every organizational leader. This inside look at acquiring the right people, empowering them, and creating a high-performing culture provides a powerful strategy to influence the performance of any organization. I believe this is the ‘secret sauce’ for improving performance, productivity, and results!”

Character & Behavior Assessment – MERIT Profile
The MERIT Profile™ is a web-based character and behavioral assessment tool designed to help organizations optimize their hiring practices and employee development efforts. The MERIT Profile provides an excellent view into an individual’s 10 core character competencies, as well as their four primary behavior traits.
The MERIT Profile is delivered in a six-page Recruitment Report used primarily for talent acquisition purposes and a 13-page Employee Development Report used for ongoing training and coaching of leaders and employees. The MERIT Profile data can also be utilized to evaluate how well an individual aligns to the overall culture of the organization (MERIT Culture CQ™) or to a specific project team or division within the organization (MERIT Team Dynamics™).
Additionally, the MERIT Profile data can be used to align with specific job performance criteria through the customization of a performance benchmark (MERIT Performance Index™) for specific individual job position.

Talent Acquisition Assistance
The MERIT Profile™ Recruitment Report is an excellent pre-screening tool for hiring purposes. It can be leveraged with additional technologies (MERIT Culture CQ™ / MERIT Performance Indexing) to determine how a person fits within an organization’s culture and how well each candidate will align with specific job performance requirements. By using the MERIT Profile to pre-screen job candidates, we can:
Improve the quality of your interviews with targeted character-based questions
Minimize the risk of a bad hire
Help you measure the impact a candidate will have on your organization’s culture
Employee Development
The MERIT Profile™ is a character and behavior assessment tool to optimize your hiring and employee development efforts. The MERIT Profile Development Report is an excellent coaching and/or training tool to help maximize your organization’s human capital assets. By using the MERIT Profile with existing employees, we can help:
Create an integrated development process for leaders and employees
Increase retention of key employees and reduce turnover
Strengthen communications between leadership and employees
Empower your workforce, leveraging their strength areas and improving upon identified personal development needs
Organization Culture Shaping
We offer a MERIT Culture CQ™ (Character Quotient) solution, which captures the quantifiable attributes representing the core values, mission, and vision of an organization’s culture to enhance the alignment and fit of an organization’s overall human capital assets. This process involves identifying the character competencies linked to achieving company-specific performance standards. Most importantly, this methodology helps communicate the values established throughout the entire organization.
