Michael R. Davies, JD, Associate, has over 30 years of law enforcement service. Chief Davies recently retired as Police Chief of the Brentwood Police Department. He began his career working as a clerk with the FBI. Later he spent 2 years as a Deputy Sheriff with Alameda County and then over 26 years with the Brentwood Police Department. For over a decade the City of Brentwood has been among the fastest growing cities in the state, and this has given Chief Davies first-hand experience in working closely with the Council, Planning Commission, City Manager, Department heads and community in the overall strategy and development of the City. During his tenure at Brentwood PD, he participated in the growth of the Department from 10 employees working under the generalist concept, to directing 65 members of a mid-size full-service law enforcement agency with a $14M budget. His accomplishments include the construction of a new 65,000 square foot state-of-the-art police facility, digitized evidence and record storage, in-car webcam technology, SWAT and Hostage Negotiation teams, Mobile Command Center, innovative hiring incentives, new policy manual, and the creation of an in-house prosecutor. He is known for his leadership, creativity, ingenuity, problem-solving abilities, public speaking skills, and commitment to customer service. Chief Davies holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Saint Mary’s College and a Juris Doctorate degree from JFK University School of Law. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and holds a POST Executive Certificate. Chief Davies is a college and police academy instructor in the field of administration of justice. Chief Davies is a member of the California Police Chiefs Association, International Association of Chiefs of Police, California State Bar, and the Board of Trustees for Sutter Delta Hospital. |
