COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course is designed to prepare the student to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of a Situation Unit Leader (SITL) on a large incident. DEMOBILIZATION UNIT LEADER
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This combined course is designed to prepare the student to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of a Resources Unit Leader (RESL) and a Demobilization Unit Leader (DMOB) on a large incident. RESL topics include: organizing and managing the unit; check-in; tracking resource status; operational planning; and resources unit products. DMOB topics include: organizing the unit; developing and writing the demobilization plan; and implementing the plan.

S-354 FACILITIES UNIT LEADER
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to prepare students to perform the duties of managing facilities on an incident or for an EOC. These duties include: gathering information about the assignment; planning and organizing the facilities unit; operating the facilities unit on a day-to-day basis; administering rental contracts; and demobilizing the unit.

This course is designed to prepare students to perform the duties of managing the transportation plan, maintenance and related services at an incident or for an EOC. Topics include: gathering information about the assignment; organizing, staffing, and laying out the unit; field inspection of equipment; operation and coordination of the unit with other units, and demobilization.

S-360 FINANCE/ADMINISTRATION UNIT LEADER
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide the prerequisite knowledge and skills necessary to perform the tasks of Finance/Administration Unit Leaders: Time Unit Leader (TIME); Procurement Unit Leader (PROC); Compensation/Claims Unit Leader (COMP); and Cost Unit Leader (COST). This course provides cross training for all the Finance/ Administration Unit Leaders.

IS-700, IS-800, I-200 and have agency experience in cost estimation and analysis.

S-403 INFORMATION OFFICER
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course meets the training requirements for a Public Information Officer Type 3 (PIO3). Topics include: information organization and assignment; developing a communications strategy; information operations; creating a safe environment; effective media relations; incident within an incident; community relations analysis; documentation; demobilization; and transitioning. Students must pass a final exam.

S-404 SAFETY OFFICER
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course meets the training requirements for a Safety Officer Type 3 (SOF3) in the incident command system. Topics include: safety officer effectiveness; analysis techniques; safety messages; briefings and reports; and high hazard operations. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will display the skills, knowledge, and tools necessary to be a safety officer. Course will highlight all-hazard incidents.

S-420 COMMAND AND GENERAL STAFF
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to prepare the student to function effectively in one of the command and general staff positions at the type 2 incident level. The course will require the application and demonstration of previously acquired knowledge and skills as an IMT member in one of the command and general staff positions. Students will be grouped as incident management teams throughout the class. Exercises focus on team interaction through simulations including mobilization, incident management, demobilization and transition to another incident management organization of a rapidly evolving wildland fire and/or all risk incident.
COURSE PREREQUISITES
IS-700 and IS-800; or I-200 and I-300. Also, successful completion of one of the Command
or General Staff courses is required, as well as satisfactory completion of pre-course work. |

S-430 OPERATIONS SECTION CHIEF
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to meet the training needs of the Operations Section Chief Type 3 (OSC3). It is presented in a lecture/discussion format and supplemented with group exercises. Topics include: planning; supervising; and coordinating. Students are evaluated in two ways: subjectively while working in-group exercises and with a final written test.

S-440 PLANNING SECTION CHIEF
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to meet a portion of the training needs of the Planning Section Chief Type 3 (PSC3) on an incdent or in an EOC. Topics include: information gathering; strategies; meetings and briefings; incident action plan (IAP); interactions; forms; documents; supplies; demobilization; and an optional technology section. In the final exercise the students observe a simulated planning meeting, and use the information derived to find errors in an incident action plan (IAP). Students must pass the unit tests and the final exercise to successfully complete the course.

IS-700, IS-800, I-200, I-300 and have completed training in Situation Unit Leader (SITL) and as a Resources Unit Leader (RESL). Satisfactory completion of pre-course work. |

S-450 LOGISTICS SECTION CHIEF
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to meet a portion of the training needs of the Logistics Section Chief Type 3 (LSC3) on an incident or in an EOC. Topics include: arriving properly equipped; gathering information to access the assignment; beginning initial planning activities of the Logistics Section Chief; determining the facilities, services, and materials to provide; planning, staffing, and managing the logistics section to meet the needs of an incident or EOC in a safe and efficient manner; coordinating with other sections to assist in accomplishing the overall objectives of the incident; and implementing the demobilization plan.

IS-700, IS-800, I-200, I-300 and successful completion of training for a Facilities Unit Leader and a Ground Support Unit Leader or a Facilities Unit Leader and a Supply Unit Leader. |
